DAY 1: SAIGON → DONG XOAI (150 KM)
This first day is a perfect introduction to both Vietnam’s rich history and its scenic rural landscapes.
Our first highlight is a visit to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels — one of the most important historical sites from the Vietnam War.
Hidden beneath the ground lies an incredible network of tunnels stretching over 250 kilometers. These tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as living quarters, supply routes, communication lines, and even underground hospitals. Walking through this site offers a powerful insight into how people survived and fought during wartime, using clever design such as camouflaged air vents and narrow passages to avoid detection.
After exploring the tunnels, we continue our ride through quiet countryside roads, where you’ll see a more authentic side of Vietnam. We stop for a local lunch before joining the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail — a historic route that once connected the South to the Central Highlands.
Along the way, we visit an old broken bridge, a lesser-known historical site that carries stories from both the French and American war periods. Your guide will share meaningful insights about this area, giving more depth to the journey beyond just sightseeing.
We arrive in Dong Xoai around 4:00 PM, where you can check in and rest after a day full of history, culture, and scenic riding.
DAY 2: DONG XOAI → DAK MIL (180 KM)
Today’s ride combines history, agriculture, and some of the most scenic border roads in the region.
We begin the morning with a visit to a local martyrs’ cemetery, a quiet and respectful place where you can gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s past. With stories shared by your guide, this stop offers a meaningful perspective on the country’s wartime history.
Leaving the town behind, we ride into one of the world’s largest cashew-producing regions. At a local cashew plantation and processing factory, you’ll see firsthand how cashews are prepared for export — from raw nuts to finished products. You’ll also have the chance to taste fresh cashews, a simple but memorable experience.
Our journey continues to a nearby rubber plantation, where you’ll learn about the traditional process of tapping rubber trees. This delicate technique requires experience and precision to protect the trees while collecting latex. Depending on the season, the plantation can be especially beautiful, with rows of trees creating a calm and almost surreal landscape.
From here, we ride along a stunning mountain road that follows the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. This scenic stretch is not only beautiful but also rich in history. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the period before 1975, including the division between North and South Vietnam and the significance of routes like the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
In the afternoon, we take a short walk through a local H’mong village, offering a glimpse into the daily life and culture of ethnic minority communities in the highlands.
We arrive in Dak Mil around 5:00 PM, where you can relax and enjoy the quiet charm of this small town.
Accommodation: Hotel or homestay
DAY 3: DAK MIL → LAK LAKE (140 KM)
After breakfast, we leave Dak Mil around 8:30 AM and continue our journey deeper into the Central Highlands, where nature becomes more dramatic and untouched.
Our first highlight of the day is the impressive Dray Sap Waterfall — one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in the region. Surrounded by lush jungle, this is the perfect place to relax, take photos, or even enjoy a refreshing swim.
We then head to a local restaurant for lunch before continuing the ride through scenic countryside roads. Along the way, you’ll pass through vast rice fields — a beautiful setting for photos and a glimpse into rural life in Vietnam.
Before reaching Lak Lake, we stop at a local pepper plantation where you can learn about one of Vietnam’s key agricultural products. From there, we take a small boat ride across the river to reach Lak Village.
Located beside the peaceful Lak Lake, this village is home to the M’nong people, one of Vietnam’s indigenous ethnic groups. Here, you can explore traditional longhouses built on stilts and learn about the unique culture and daily life of the local community.
We arrive at Lak Lake around 5:00 PM, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere by the water.
Accommodation: Hotel
DAY 4: LAK LAKE → DA LAT (160 KM)
Start your day early at 6:00 AM with a truly peaceful experience on Lak Lake — one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
You’ll take a traditional dugout canoe, handcrafted by local people, and gently glide across the calm, mirror-like water. Surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and quiet villages, the lake offers a serene and authentic atmosphere. Along the way, you may spot local fishermen, grazing water buffalo, and various bird species, while glimpsing the daily life of the M’nong people living along the lakeshore.
After the boat trip, we take a walk through Lak Village, home to the M’nong ethnic group. Their traditional stilt houses, built from wood and bamboo, are designed to stay cool and protect against seasonal flooding. Visiting the village gives you a closer look at their way of life — from farming and fishing to weaving and traditional crafts. If you’re lucky to visit during a local festival, you may even witness gong music, traditional dances, and vibrant cultural celebrations.
In the afternoon, we arrive at the impressive Elephant Waterfall — one of the most powerful and beautiful waterfalls in the Da Lat region. Nearby, we visit Linh An Pagoda, home to a large Happy Buddha statue and one of the tallest Lady Buddha statues in southern Vietnam. This is a great place to relax and gain a deeper understanding of local Buddhist culture.
Next, we visit a local family to try traditional homemade rice wine — known for its strong flavor and deep cultural roots in rural Vietnam. The journey continues to a silk factory, where you can observe the fascinating process of silk production, from silkworms to finished products.
We continue our ride toward Da Lat along scenic country roads lined with beautiful landscapes. Along the way, we stop at a coffee plantation, where you’ll learn about Vietnam’s famous coffee culture and taste different varieties such as Robusta, Arabica, and even the unique weasel coffee.
We arrive in Da Lat around 5:00 PM, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through the Central Highlands.
