DAY 1: SAI GON TO LONG HAI (140KM)
Your adventure begins as we leave the chaos of Saigon behind and cross the scenic Saigon River by ferry. Once on the countryside roads, the pace slows — winding through rubber plantations where you’ll learn how locals harvest latex.
We continue to Minh Dam Army Base, a historical site that tells stories of the fierce battles fought here before 1975. Next, we visit Thuong Chieu Monastery Pagoda, an architectural masterpiece that radiates peace and spiritual beauty.
Back to our motorbike ride, we will come to Binh Chau town for lunch and have a little rest here. Keep going to Long Hai, a coastal town in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, we‘ll visit the salt farm home to traditional salt farms that showcase an essential part of Vietnam’s agricultural heritage. Salt farming is a long-standing practice here where salt is harvested from seawater through natural evaporation. This centuries-old method is still widely used in Long Hai, especially during the dry season from December to April, when sunny days and consistent heat aid the evaporation process.
Arrive at Long Hai Beach in the late afternoon, where golden sands and gentle waves await. Enjoy a seafood dinner and the peaceful seaside atmosphere.
DAY 2: LONG HAI TO MUI NE (150KM)
After breakfast, ride along one of Vietnam’s most beautiful coastal roads. Our first stop is Ke Ga Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Southeast Asia — perfect for photos of the breathtaking ocean views.
We then visit Van Thuy Tu Temple, where fishermen worship the skeleton of an enormous whale — an important part of local seafaring culture. Continuing north, we’ll explore the Champa Towers, remnants of the ancient Cham civilization, offering insight into their spiritual and artistic traditions.
Arrive in Mui Ne by mid-afternoon, where you can relax on the beach or explore the famous sand dunes. After a rewarding day of riding, enjoy a peaceful evening by the sea.
DAY 3: MUI NE TO BAO LOC (160KM)
Start the day by exploring Mui Ne’s highlights — the bustling Fishing Village, the colorful Fairy Stream, the Red Canyon, and the spectacular White Sand Dunes.
Back on the motorbike, we head inland, riding through vast dragon fruit farms where you can taste fresh fruit right from the source. The route then ascends into the lush mountains of the Central Highlands, where the temperature cools and the scenery turns green and dramatic.
We’ll visit a K’ho ethnic minority village, discovering their unique traditions, way of life, and warm hospitality.
Arrive in Bao Loc by late afternoon and settle in for a relaxing evening surrounded by highland tranquility.
DAY 4: BAOLOC TO DALAT (150KM)
Today we ride through one of the most picturesque regions of southern Vietnam. Our first stop is the majestic Pongour Waterfall, known for its seven cascading tiers — a natural wonder that is especially stunning during the rainy season.
After lunch, we visit Chicken Village, home to the K’ho people. Here, your guide will share fascinating legends about the village’s name and insights into K’ho marriage customs and daily life.
The journey continues toward Da Lat, with stops at Robin Hill for panoramic views, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, and the serene Tuyen Lam Lake.
Arrive in Da Lat, the “City of Eternal Spring,” in the late afternoon — known for its cool air, pine forests, and romantic charm.
DAY 5: DA LAT TO LAK LAKE (170KM)
After breakfast, we set off through Da Lat’s peaceful countryside, passing flower farms bursting with color — roses, lilies, and daisies being prepared for shipment to markets nationwide.
We then conquer one of the region’s most scenic mountain passes, heading to Me Linh Coffee Plantation. Learn about Vietnam’s coffee-growing process, from bean to cup, and taste the unique flavors of Weasel Coffee, one of the world’s rarest brews.
Next, visit a local rice wine workshop, where you’ll sample Vietnam’s “happy water” and learn how it’s made. Continue to a silk factory to see how cocoons are turned into luxurious silk threads.
Our next stop is the spectacular Elephant Waterfall, and nearby, Linh An Pagoda, home to towering Buddha statues and peaceful gardens.
After lunch, the ride continues through scenic farmland and remote villages until we reach Lak Lake, one of the largest and most beautiful natural lakes in Vietnam. Here, you can enjoy a boat trip, meet the local M’nong people, or simply relax by the lakeshore.
DAY 6: LAK LAKE TO BUON ME THUOT (BMT CITY) (140KM)
Wake up early to enjoy a peaceful dug-out canoe trip across Lak Lake — a truly authentic experience in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. As you glide through the calm water, you’ll see local fishermen, water buffalo, and the traditional stilt houses of the M’nong ethnic people along the lake’s edge.
We then continue our Vietnam Motorbike Tour toward Buon Ma Thuot, the coffee capital of Vietnam. Along the way, stop at the impressive Dray Sap Waterfalls — surrounded by pristine jungle, perfect for swimming or a picnic lunch.
Before reaching the city, we’ll also visit a historical bridge, mushroom farms (seasonal), and a cocoa plantation, giving you a deeper sense of Central Highland life.
DAY 7: BMT CITY TO CHUSE (160KM)
Before leaving the bustling coffee hub, we visit the Dak Lak Cultural and Historical Museum (closed Mondays). This modern museum — designed to resemble an Ede longhouse — showcases the rich heritage, ethnology, and wartime history of the Central Highlands.
Back on the road, we ride through tranquil village roads and rice fields, stopping at pepper farms and rubber plantations — two of the region’s most important crops. Enjoy a break in a roadside café for a cup of local coffee before continuing along the scenic Ho Chi Minh Trail.
After lunch, we visit the spectacular Phu Cuong Waterfall, one of Gia Lai Province’s most beautiful natural spots, surrounded by dense forest and volcanic rock formations.
Arrive in Chu Se around late afternoon, check in at the hotel, and relax for the evening.
DAY 8: CHUSE TO KONTUM (120KM)
Today we continue our Vietnam motorbike adventure through the heart of the Central Highlands. Our first stop is Bien Ho (Sea Lake) — a volcanic crater known as “The Eyes of Pleiku.” Enjoy the serene scenery and cool mountain air before heading to the tea plantations, first planted by the French during the colonial era.
After a short stroll through the lush green fields, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed local tea or coffee before visiting a nearby Buddhist temple featuring a unique reclining Buddha statue.
Arrive in Kon Tum around noon, a charming riverside town rich in ethnic minority culture. After lunch, we explore the town’s highlights, including the iconic Wooden Church, built in 1913 with a beautiful mix of Gothic and Central Highlands architecture, and the nearby Kon K’tu ethnic village, famous for its tall Rong houses and friendly locals.
DAY 9: KONTUM TO PHUOC SON (180KM)
Before leaving Kon Tum, we visit the historic Wooden Church once more for morning photos and a quiet moment before the ride. Then we head toward Ngoc Hoi town, a former battlefield during the Vietnam War, where you’ll see preserved VC tanks and monuments commemorating the fierce fighting of the era.
Continuing along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, we stop at Charlie Hill and Phoenix Airport, sites of intense battles during 1967. Your guide will share stories of their historical significance, giving you a glimpse into Vietnam’s wartime resilience.
We’ll enjoy lunch at the Indochina T-junction, where Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia meet — a truly symbolic point of the journey. Then, ride through the scenic Truong Son mountain range, stopping at a local stream for a refreshing swim.
Arrive in Phuoc Son (Kham Duc) in the late afternoon and check in at your hotel.
DAY 10: PHUOC SON TO HOIAN (170KM)
The final stretch of your Vietnam Motorbike Tour is one of the most beautiful. The road from Kham Duc winds through the Phuoc Son Pass, offering breathtaking mountain scenery, rivers, and waterfalls.
We’ll stop to visit a Chu Ru ethnic village, meet the locals, and continue to a hidden jungle waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim. On the way down from the highlands, we stop at pineapple farms to sample fresh fruit and coffee.
Before reaching Hoi An, we visit the Cham Temple, a historic Hindu site built by the ancient Cham people, and the Cao Dai Temple, showcasing Vietnam’s unique fusion religion. A quick stop at a local incense-making village marks the last cultural experience of your journey.
Arrive in Hoian around 4:00 pm. Celebrate completing one of Vietnam’s most beautiful and memorable motorbike journeys!
DAY 11: HOI AN TO HUE (150 KM)
Start early from Hoi An. Ride north through Da Nang and climb the legendary Hai Van Pass (“Ocean Cloud Pass”) — one of Vietnam’s most beautiful coastal mountain roads with sweeping ocean and jungle views.
Stop at local fishing beaches, Lang Co Beach for photos or a swim, and Dream Springs for a refreshing dip.
DAY 12: HUE TO KHE SANH (160 KM)
Leave Hue in the morning and ride north into the former Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Along the way, stop at the Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River — the historic 17th Parallel that once divided North and South Vietnam — then continue to the Vinh Moc Tunnels, where an entire village lived underground for years to survive the war. After exploring these key DMZ landmarks, head west along Highway 9 through quiet countryside and peaceful rural roads. Arrive in Khe Sanh and visit the Khe Sanh Combat Base, Ta Con Airfield, and the small Khe Sanh Museum to see remaining bunkers, aircraft, and exhibits from the fierce 1968 battle.
DAY 13: KHE SANH TO PHONG NHA (220 KM)
Ride along scenic sections of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail. Pass remote minority villages, tropical forests, and dramatic limestone mountains. Quiet roads and beautiful scenery make this one of the best riding days in central Vietnam.
DAY 14: EXPLORE PHONG NHA
Enjoy a rest day in Phong Nha National Park. Visit the Paradise Cave, Phong Nha Cave, and the adventurous Dark Cave.
DAY 15: PHONG NHA TO VINH (200 KM)
Leave Phong Nha and ride north on the Ho Chi Minh Road (QL15). The first part offers more limestone karsts, quiet countryside, and forested hills before the landscape gradually opens up into wider valleys and rural roads. Continue through small towns and farmland, arriving in Vinh in the afternoon.
DAY 16: VINH TO THANH HOA (150 KM)
Head north from Vinh along National Highway or the parallel coastal/expressway route. Ride through flat coastal plains, rice fields, and small fishing towns. The road is mostly easy and straightforward with occasional sea views. Arrive in Thanh Hoa by early afternoon.
DAY 17: THANH HOA TO NINH BINH (80KM)
A short and relaxed riding day. Follow quiet rural roads and sections of Highway 1 northward through green countryside and small villages. Reach Ninh Binh (Tam Coc / Trang An area) by midday, giving you free time to explore the famous limestone karsts, rice paddies, or take a short boat ride if you wish.
DAY 18: NINH BINH TO MAICHAU (160KM)
Ride northwest from Ninh Binh toward the mountains. Detour into Pu Luong Nature Reserve — a beautiful area of terraced rice fields, bamboo forests, and quiet minority villages. Spend time exploring the valleys and viewpoints, then continue on scenic mountain roads to Mai Chau. Arrive in the peaceful Mai Chau valley in the late afternoon.
DAY 19: MAI CHAU TO PHU YEN (150 KM)
Today’s route is one of the hidden gems of Northern Vietnam. We’ll ride alongside the impressive Da River Reservoir before entering remote mountain roads that wind through forests, valleys, and small ethnic villages that see very few tourists.
With light traffic and constant beautiful scenery, this is a truly rewarding riding day. You’ll arrive in the quiet town of Phu Yen feeling the authentic charm of the northwest.
DAY 20: MAI CHAU TO MU CANG CHAI (170KM)
We head straight toward the famous rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai today. The highlight is crossing the legendary Khau Pha Pass – one of Vietnam’s Four Great Mountain Passes. The winding road delivers stunning views of dramatic valleys, cloud-covered peaks, and endless terraced fields.
We’ll ride through Tu Le Valley before reaching Mu Cang Chai, known for some of the most spectacular rice terraces in Asia. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere in the evening.
DAY 21: MU CANG CHAI TO SAPA (150KM)
We continue north through the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range toward the famous hill town of Sa Pa.
Expect exciting mountain passes, waterfalls, deep valleys, and plenty of great viewpoints. As you approach Sa Pa, Vietnam’s highest peak – Fansipan – dominates the skyline. You’ll arrive in the afternoon and have time to enjoy the cool mountain air and lively town vibe.
DAY 22: SAPA TO BAC HA (120 KM)
Travel 120km to Bac Ha, known for its Sunday market. This vibrant marketplace offers a glimpse into the lives of various ethnic groups, their hand-woven goods, and the stunning natural beauty that frames their world.
DAY 23: BAC HA TO HA GIANG (200KM)
The 200km ride to Ha Giang showcases the plateau's magnificence. Journey through Xin Man village and Hoang Su Phi, capturing photos of the landscape's grandeur before arriving in Ha Giang.
DAY 24: HA GIANG DONG VAN (160 KM)
This 160 km trip from Ha Giang City to Dong Van includes a stop in Quan Ba to admire the pine forests and the awe-inspiring Ma Pi Leng Pass, with its panoramic views of cliffs and the Nho Que River.
DAY 25: DONG VAN TO BAO LAC - MAJESTIC LANDSCAPES
Ride from Dong Van to Bao Lac, capturing the essence of Vietnam's rugged beauty. The Ma Pi Leng Pass offers breathtaking views, encapsulating the spirit of adventure.
DAY 26: BAO LAC TO BA BE LAKE - NATURE'S SPLENDOR
The journey to Ba Be Lake traverses lush landscapes, offering a glimpse into the serene beauty and rich biodiversity of Vietnam. Enjoy local delicacies and the tranquility of Ba Be National Park.
DAY 27: BA BE LAKE TO HANOI
The journey concludes with a ride from Ba Be Lake back to Hanoi, encapsulating the adventure's essence with a final stretch of scenic beauty and the anticipation of returning to the city's lively ambiance.
NOTE:
This tour includes 27 days of riding, but you can select 3 days for rest. We highly recommend taking a rest day in Dalat after the 4th, Hoi An after the 10th day and another in Mai Chau after the 17th day. With these breaks, the total tour duration will be 30 days.
We will cover the accommodations for rest days, and you can use your motorbike during this time. However, please note that meals on these rest days will be at your own expense and the guide will also have rest days.
